Heffernan feels perfectly at home amongst the boys. In fact, her ability to construct or repair anything mechanical or electronic far exceeds that of the lads. The others will stare at her with glazed expressions as she explains in technical jargon how she is going to fix the engine.
Not only is Heffernan a far better mechanic than the rest of the crew, she is also by far the best driver. She would put any rally driver to shame, as she pulls off impossible manoeuvres in the big RV.
Heffernan is not afraid to get involved in a dangerous situation, but she'll consider her options first.
